Learn how to animate your your architectural plans using video footage, adding a new level of realism and dynamic to your visuals.

Overview.

In this tutorial, Pedro and Timon, look at how to animate an architectural cinemagraph, using drone footage shot by Pedro at his hometown on the Portuguese coast. The video is divided into 2 parts, the first with Pedro doing some quick postproduction and in the second part Timon bringing his video magic.
In this tutorial you will be able to give an incredible amount of of realism and dynamic to your visuals. Many of these same techniques can easily be applied to your own videos and creations, be in plans, sections or even elevations or visuals. We get into the basics of Adobe After Effects 2018 and learn how to use this in a similar way to how we use Photoshop. The video and Photoshop files are meant to be accompanied by the YouTube tutorial.

Pedro has become known for his before and after pieces (postproduction) in Architectural Visualisation. He founded Arqui9 and together with the team they have worked for many of the worlds leading architectural firms, including Zaha Hadid, Foster + Partners, Aedas, AECOM and Heatherwick studios, to name just a few.
Timon, team leader at Arqui9, multimedia designer and 2D artist. Timon has a background in illustration and multimedia design, giving him a broad range of talent that he then expands into archviz. He has been a rockstar for 4 years at Arqui9 and regularly takes on projects as a creative lead.
